Hyundai's Korean shipyard delivers latest Prisco tanker
ZALIF AMERIKA named and blessed at ceremony in the South Korean yard...

On January 23, 2008  PRISCO’s new tanker ZALIF AMERIKA of 104 000 tons deadweight was introduced into operation and sailed for its first voyage.

PRISCO management, business partners, and charterer’s representatives participated in the Naming and Blessing Ceremony of the new vessel built by Hyundai Heavy Industries (South Korea). By orthodox custom Father Tikhon (Sakhalin eparchy) blessed the new vessel and the crew and Godmother Irina Bulatova broke a champagne bottle on the ship's hull.

The new tanker was named after the Gulf of America. Almost 150 years ago discoverers gave this name to the present Gulf of Nakhodka. In 1972 PRISCO was founded on the shore of above gulf.

The vessel is 1С ice class according to DNV. This is the first vessel of a series consists of 6 tankers of 100 000 tons deadweight each. The series will be introduced into operation during 2008 – 2009.

The total deadweight of PRISCO’s current fleet is approximately 1 300 000 tons.
