Biggest X-Bow ship to be launched soon
Revolutionary Ulstein designed vessel will be largest one so far with this type of bow...




The largest vessel with the ULSTEIN X-BOW®, Island Constructor, is under construction in the Ulstein Verft´s dock hall for shipowner Island Offshore.


The vessel will be launched Sunday 3rd February, and is due for delivery in the end of May.


Yard number 279 is an offshore construction vessel measuring 120.2 metres length and 25 metres breadth.


Island Constructor is the fourth ULSTEIN X-BOW® vessel to be realized, and the very first in the ULSTEIN S-series, “S” meaning “specialized vessels”.

The three other ships with the ULSTEIN X-BOW® were all built for shipowner Bourbon Offshore Norway. These are the anchor handling vessel Bourbon Orca, and the platform supply vessels Bourbon Mistral and Bourbon Monsoon.

Ulstein Design has currently 26 vessels in order, 20 of these being ULSTEIN X-BOW® vessels.
