300th ship delivered by HMD shipyard

Catching up with news from Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, they announced today that the top shipbuilder of mid-sized vessels, delivered their 300th vessel, a 47,000-dwt product carrier, on November 19th this year

The vessel, named Citron, was delivered to Turkish owner Geden Lines.

Since entering the newbuilding market in 1996, HMD has delivered 300 vessels as of the end of November.


The first vessel delivered was an FPSO, Ramform Banff, in December of 1997.

36 vessels were delivered in 2004, 46 vessels in 2005, 60 vessels last year, and HMD plans to deliver 67 vessels this year.

By ship type, HMD has delivered 218 Product Carriers, which is the highest market share in the world, 58 Containerships, 6 Bulk Carriers, and 18 specialized ships such as Drillship and Cable Layers.
