Mitsui shipyard delivers mv LADY
GIOVI
81000 DWT bulk carrier for Clio Marine Inc...
Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (MES with president Mr.
Yasuhiko Katoh) completed an 81,000 dwt bulk carrier MV LADY GIOVI (MES
Yard No. 1687) which had been under construction in its Tamano Works
and delivered it on December 10, 2007 to her owner Clio Marine Inc.,
Liberia.
This is the first ship of MES's new design series of 81,000 dwt with
overall length of 225 meters, the same length as of 75,000 dwt Panamax
carrier which used to be built until 2002.

Special Features
The ship has a length overall of 225 meters which is the maximum
length of grain terminal berth in Japan securing 81,000 dwt and a
cargo hold capacity of 96,000 m3.
The ship has a hull form of higher resistance propulsion performance
and is equipped with MIPB-Wing (Mitsui Integrated Propeller Boss with
Wing) to achieve an excellent fuel oil saving.
The ship's navigational speed is increased to 15 knots to enable more
flexible operation of the ship.
The ship has a lightweight compact and high-output main engine of
Mitsui-MAN B&W6S60MC-C to achieve an excellent fuel saving by means of
derating enabling an optimum navigation at the most appropriate
output.
Ballast water of can be changed during ship's navigation for
preservation of ocean environment.
Generator engines also satisfy IMO environmental standard.
