Pirates release ship owners confirm
CEC FUTURE on her way to Oman, crew safe...

Clipper Projects A/S, operators of M/V CEC Future, say they are delighted to confirm that the vessel has been released by the hijackers this afternoon. All the crew members have been accounted for and are uninjured.

The vessel will now proceed to Oman under the escort of a Russian naval vessel from where the crew members will be flown home to rejoin their families.

CEC Future was seized whilst transiting the Gulf of Aden on the 7th November 2008. Since that time strenuous efforts have been made to secure the release of the vessel and the 13 crew members on board.

Clipper say they would like to send a message of support to the crew and their families who have been put through this ordeal. The last few months have traumatic for all concerned and they have faced the situation courageously.

The seizure of both this and other vessels over the last months in the Gulf of Aden must serve to highlight the unacceptable security situation in the area, says Clipper and they thanked those nations who are working to improve the situation and urged the international community and the coalition forces to continue to work toward the protection of seafarers and the passage of free trade in the region.
