CFF SEINE sold by Clarkson Ferries
1984-built ferry finds yet another owner in her long and varied career...

The Board of Clarkson PLC ('Clarkson') recently announced the sale of its freight ferry, the CFF Seine, which currently operates in the Irish Sea.

The ferry, part of Clarkson's non-core logistics business, has been sold to Express Shipping A/S for a cash consideration of €5.4 million (£3.8 million).

The sale is expected to complete by early December and the proceeds will be reinvested in Clarkson's core business.

The CCF SEINE has had a chequered ( bewildering! ) career since she was built in 1984 as the BALDER FJORD

Since then she has had many registered owners and managers and name changes. Latterly, in the past few years, she was managed by Harrisons (Clyde) then ASP Shipmanagement (both based in Glasgow) and been chartered in the recent years by an even greater variety of ferry companies: Channel Freight Ferries; Isle of Man Steam Packet Company; Cobelfret Ferries; Ferryways.and finally Norfolkline on the Heysham-Belfast route.
