Remontowa's Northern Shipyard
launches the ninth vessel of 2007
Good times keep rolling for Polish shipbuilding firm...
Recently, on 16th November 2007 another ship basing on a
project NED 8761L was launched and named at Northern Shipyard,
Remontowa’s subsidiary. The Anchor Handling Towing Supply Vessel
was named KEHOE TIDE is being built for Tidewater Marine LLC. It
was the 9th launch of a vessel at Northern Shipyard in 2007.
The vessel is designed for operation in relatively shallow waters
comparing to competing designs with similar deck payload, power and
other principal characteristics.
The 70.00 m long and 15.50 wide vessel is powered with two main
engines, rated at 5000 HP, which enables her to achieve a service
speed of 13 knots and maximum speed of 15 knots.
Open work deck area of above 400 sq m and 1000 t capacity facilitates
supply functions in addition to 55 underdeck tanks for water, fuels
and dry bulk drilling materials. The ship will be equipped with a
fire-fighting system of 1200 cu m / h capacity.
The successful B 844 series of vessels is being constructed to a design
supplied by NED consulting naval architects from REMONTOWA Group and
under supervision from ABS. The launch of the 7th unit in the series
is expected in the beginning of 2008.
Remontowa previously announced that they had been successful in
winning yet another order from Calmac Ferries, this time for a vessel
to serve the Islay service. British shipbuilding firm Ferguson's is
understood not to have tendered for the contract.
