New Hamburg Felixstowe Bilbao service welcomed at port
The JAN MITCHELL inaugurates the new weekly service



Port Welcomes New OPDR Hamburg Service to Bilbao


The Port of Felixstowe has today, 24th July 2007, welcomed the first vessel on the new OPDR Hamburg Felixstowe to Bilbao service, with the arrival of the 300-TEU Jan Mitchell.

The service will run weekly out of the Port’s Landguard Terminal, and will travel to Bilbao via Rotterdam.

The service will then return to Felixstowe after making another stop in Rotterdam.

Chris Lewis, Chief Executive Officer of Hutchison Ports (UK) Limited, owners of the Port of Felixstowe, commented:

“The Port welcomes OPDR’s decision to create a new weekly service from Felixstowe to Bilbao. The Port has a long-standing relationship with OPDR and their agents, John Good Shipping, and we are delighted that they intend to build upon the services they already have running from Felixstowe”.

OPDR already have weekly calls from the Port of Felixstowe to the Canary Islands, Seville, North Africa, and Portugal.
