No more bodies found on stricken Philippines ferry
Search called off, 11 confirmed as dead

Philippine authorities have called off a search for bodies on the passenger RO-RO ferry BLUE WATER PRINCESS which grounded on Thursday last week off the town of San Francisco, Quezon.

Divers, who were sure there were more bodies to be found, searched the wreck but discovered none.

11 have been confirmed as dead, with five missing. There were 124 survivors.

The ferry encountered bad weather on it's way from Lucena to Masbate and the captain turned the ship just before it grounded and settled half submerged around 500 metres from the shore.

The 480 ton vessel is operated by Blue Magic Ferries of Lucena City who started her in service only 15 months ago. She is a well appointed vessel with air conditioned cabins in first class, coffee shop, canteen, bar and restaurant.

There is some speculation that lorries aboard the vessel shifted, adding to her difficulties.
