The new tanker of 166, 000 DWT has a length of 285 m and breadth of 50 m. The vessel was designed specially for work in the Baltic Sea particularly for transportation of cargoes from the port of Primorsk with 15 metres draught.

The winterized ice class 1A according DNV classification enables the newbuilding to transport cargoes everywhere including northern seas.

PRISCO MIZAR is a lead ship and it is planned to launch PRISCO ALCOR, the second vessel of this series, in the middle of September of this year. During the next three years both vessels will transfer liquid cargoes in the Baltic Sea.

The names of the new vessels Mizar and Alcor come from the name of binary star in the constellation of the Big Dipper. The ancient Arabs called the stars Horse and Rider because of their close proximity in the sky.
