Wanted: warm friendly folks from
North East of England
Ferry firm looks to the NE of England to fill on-board jobs
Around thirty people from the North East of England are set to enjoy a
new life on the high seas after the Danish owners of Europe’s leading
cruise ferry company decided to set their sights on the region for the
first time to find new crew members.
The region’s reputation for warmth and friendliness has led DFDS
Seaways to look across the North Sea for cooks, bar tenders, shop
assistants plus stewards and stewardesses to sail on its new route
from Newcastle to Stavanger, Haugesund and Bergen aboard the m.s.
Queen Of Scandinavia.
Most onboard employees will work a regular shift pattern. Salaries are
paid tax free, and perks of the jobs include full board and lodging
being included plus generous travel concessions.
John Crummie, UK Managing Director of DFDS Seaways says: “People from
the north east are well-known for their openness and approachability,
and we believe they have all the qualities required to make successful
careers aboard our vessels.”
DFDS employs around 4,300 people across northern Europe and is
committed to offering ongoing education and development support
programmes for employees to help them adapt to the requirements of
their roles.
John Crummie, UK Managing Director, adds: “DFDS Seaways is very highly
regarded as an employer and the roles we have available offer north
east people a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a varied career, meeting
new people and new challenges every day.
“The region’s reputation for friendliness is standing us in extremely
good stead, and we expect that there will be a lot of interest from
local people in these exciting opportunities.”
Anyone interested in applying for the vacancies needs to fill in an
initial application form at www.dfds.co.uk/jobs with successful
applicants being invited to a subsequent open day.
