Sailor killed on Louis Lines cruise ship
Yet another crew death on cruise ship in Greek waters

Yet another tragedy has hit Louis Lines in Greece.

An Indonesian crewman was killed when a mooring cable snapped as the ORIENT QUEEN was leaving the port of Myconos. Another crewman suffered leg injuries in the incident which is now being investigated by authorities.

It is not clear how the accident happened but Louis Cruise lines is reported to have said that strong winds, reported at force 6, may have contributed to the snapping of the cable.

Louis Lines operated the SEA DIAMOND which sank off Santorini last month.

This is yet another tragedy in less than two months which has involved a crewman being killed on a cruise ship in Greek waters. On the same day SEA DIAMOND grounded a Filipino sailor was killed during a safety drill when the lifeboat he was in crashed down the side of the German-operated ASTORIA at Corfu.

Louis Lines completed purchase of ORIENT QUEEN in February of this year.
