AZAMARA JOURNEY

New cruise ship line debuts
RCL subsidiary begin sailing with first of two ships

Another new cruise ship brand has been unveiled just recently.

Royal Caribbean Cruises, or rather their subsidiary, Celebrity Cruises purchased two ships operated by Pullmantur, the BLUE DREAM and BLUE MOON to debute the two former Rennaissance-R ships under the name of Azamara Cruises.

The first of the ships, AZAMARA JOURNEY (ex BLUE DREAM) was delayed by a day. She was going to sail on her first voyage from Cape Liberty on May 5th but last minute clear up after her four week refit in the Bahamas meant she did not sail until the next day.

AZAMARA QUEST (ex BLUE DREAM) will begin cruising in October of this year.

Both ships are aimed at 'the discerning traveller' and are fitted to very high standards. (There's even butler service!)

For this year the cruising itineraries are based on Bermuda and the South Americas but in 2008 Europe will also feature. By 2010 around the world voyages are planned.

The formation of this brand is a move away from the relentless building of ever bigger cruise ships, and reflects a growing market for passengers who wish to experience a more intimate and 'classy' experience.
