Uljanik shipyard delivers third car carrier
OPAL LEADER accepted by Ray Car Carriers

By signing the whole series of delivery & acceptance documents on Wednesday, 25th April, 2007, Mr. Marinko Brgić – President of the Board of Directors of Uljanik Shipyard and Mr. Rami Ungar – the Shipowner, confirmed the delivery of the car carrier OPAL LEADER built by Uljanik Shipyard for the company Ray Car Carriers.

After the act of signing, the Shipowner and his guests, accompanied by the Shipyard’s representative, went on board the ship and were informed about her main characteristics.

The ship is a 12,300 DWT Pure Car Truck Carrier intended for the transportation of 4,900 cars and trucks.

After Hulls No. 436 – LAPIS ARROW and 465 – CORAL LEADER this is the third ship from the series of nine ships contracted with the company Ray Shipping.

The ship is 176 m long, her breadth is 31.10 m and she can achieve a maximum speed of 20.8 knots.
She is driven by Uljanik/MAN-B&W main engine having an output of 12,460 kW at 127 r/min.

The Contract for Hull No. 466 – OPAL LEADER was signed in November, 2003, the keel was laid last July and the ship launched on 23rd December, 2006.

The delivery of OPAL LEADER is the second delivery of ships in Uljanik this year. In addition to OPAL LEADER, Uljanik Shipyard has delivered also the large car carrier HOEGH DELHI for the Norwegian buyer P.D. Gram.
