Ulstein expands into China
The Ulstein Group focuses on international growth, and is now expanding in China.

Ulstein, the company behind the revolutionary ULSTEIN X-BOW® in offshore vessel designs, is looking to China for future growth.

"We want to get into a broader market with our solutions and knowledge. Our intention is to expand our working area globally, as well as develop our competitiveness in Norway,” says Tore Ulstein, Director of Market and Business Development.

Recently, the Ulstein Group agreed on a lease for a 1500 square metres office in Ningbo, China. The group established a representative office in Shanghai in 2002. This will continue as today.

“China is an exciting market that is growing rapidly within shipbuilding. Only Japan and Korea have a higher shipbuilding activity,” says Ulstein.

"We hope to take part in the expanding market in China", says Tore Ulstein, Director of Market and Business Development.

The activity in China is separated in three main areas: One being supervision and engineering on eight vessels (four ULSTEIN P105, four ULSTEIN PX105) constructed for Bourbon Offshore Norway. The other two are sales work for design projects, and the possibility to increase production capacity in electrical work on components to be delivered in China.
