Shipping firms go Evergreen all
over
Evergreen brand to be trading name of all Evergreen group
companies.
Evergreen have announced that all of their carriers: Evergreen
Marine Corp (Taiwan) Ltd, Hatsu Marine Ltd, Italia Marittima SpA and
Evergreen Marine (Hong Kong) Ltd will trade under the one name from
the 1st of May 2007.
The new identity for all four will Evergreen Line, but, says
Evergreen, each one will remain independent with their own autonomy as
shipowners and operators.
The change will bring increased efficiencies says the company and was
in immediate response to "the requests and expectations" of
Evergreen's customers giving them one point of contact. The company
said they will have one central sales office instead of several in
each country.
Already the rebranding has been effected on the company's websites and
a new website began on April 1st, http://www.evergreen-line.com
The company say customers see the same levels of service but in a
simplified and more efficient way and that the Evergreen brand was a
strong identity.
Evergreen Line operates the fourth largest container fleet in the
world, with over 150 ships by capacity of approximately 560,000 TEU
Hatsu Marine Ltd was formed in 2002 as a British company owning and
operating some of the largest vessels of the Evergreen group.
The change sees the demise of the name Italia Marittima SpA (at least
as far as customers and marketing is concerned) which in itself
replaced one of Italy's oldest and most well known shipping names,
Lloyd Triestino, only a year ago. Lloyd Triestino's past stretches way
back to the earliest days of steam navigation, being formed as Lloyd
Austriaco in 1833 as an insurance firm which in the next three years
evolved into a shipowning operation.
