Damen shipyard christens fiftieth combi freighter
Christening of the fiftieth Damen Combi Freighter 3850. mv BEAUMAGIC

On the 6th of April 2007, the fiftieth Combi Freighter 3850 of Damen Shipyards Bergum was christened in Harlingen.

On a beautiful day of sunshine and blue skies the ship was christened by Mrs. Verkaart. She baptised the ship on behalf of Unisea Shipping B.V.

Damen say they are very proud of their achievement and that the CF 3850 has proved in practice to be a solid and multi-usable ship and that "about ten ships" of this type are under construction or in their order books.

The fiftieth CF 3850 namely has a main engine that runs on heavy oil and in combination with an adjustable screw this will lead to lower costs in fuel and therefore reduce costs, says Damen.

During the reception Mr. Richard Nugteren (Managing Director Damen Shipyards Bergum) congratulated the custumers and the charterer.

After the ceremony the m.v. BEAUMAGIC made her way out of the harbour on her way to her first shipment.
