OOCL wins award from Canada
forwarders association
Yet another award from CIFFA for service between Toronto and Far
East
OOCL was the proud winner of the 2006 Canadian International Freight
Forwarders Association's Central region's Forwarder's Choice Awards
for Outstanding Ocean Service and Commitment between Toronto and the
Far East. The prestigious award was presented to OOCL by Mr. Tony
Young of LCL Navigation Canada Ltd, Executive Director of CIFFA. This
is the second consecutive year for OOCL's Central Division to win this
award.
Every year the three CIFFA regions award a prize for service quality,
transit times and reliability to the best shipping and air-freight
companies on the most important trade routes. The nominations are
based on a survey of the association’s members and verification by an
independent commission.
The event held at the Missisauga Convention Centre and was attended by
over 400 guests, honored both ocean and air carriers in 8 different
trade lanes. The special guest of the evening was George Kuhn, retired
Executive Director of CIFFA, recipient of a Life Award presented by
Canadian Sailing representing Canadian Sailing and The Journal of
Commerce.
Since 1999, OOCL has accepted eight awards from CIFFA Central Region,
five from CIFFA Western Region and one from CIFFA Eastern Region,
including ten as the Best Ocean Carrier between Canada and Far East,
two as the Best Ocean Carrier between Canada and Europe and twice as
the "Ocean Carrier of the Year."
The CIFFA organization was founded in Montreal as early as 1948, to
establish a professional level in the industry, with uniform quality
standards. Today the association is divided into three regions – West,
East and Central Canada.
