BAHIA CASTILLO will be christened at Okpo tomorrow

Tomorrow, Thursday, 12 April 2007 the container ship BAHIA CASTILLO will be christened at the yard of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd. (DSME) in Okpo, Korea.

The BAHIA CASTILLO is the third of six identical 3,752 TEU container vessels to have been ordered from DSME by Hamburg Süd.

Sponsor of the newbuilding is Marie-Catherine Gräfin Douglas, a niece of Dr hc August Oetker, personally liable partner of Dr. August Oetker KG.

The BAHIA CASTILLO is named after a bay on the Atlantic Ocean in Departemento Rocha, north-eastern Uruguay. Two weeks after the christening the vessel is to be phased into Hamburg Süd's liner service between Asia/South Africa and South America East Coast.
