TSMarine awarded first NOPSA approval for well intervention
Scottish company 'set the benchmark' says authority

Aberdeen-headquartered TSMarine, a specialist Subsea services company, has been awarded the first National Offshore Petroleum Safety Authority (NOPSA) Safety Case approval specifically for well intervention.

The approval covers TSMarine’s recently leased HAVILA HARMONY (pictured), which mobilised for Singapore on March 28 2007 to carry out Subsea project work for a number of clients in the Australian waters.

NOPSA is the statutory authority regulating Commonwealth, State and Territory coastal waters off Australia and under law all companies operating in the region must pass the organisation’s safety criteria.

NOPSA, said: “TSMarine is the first company to receive a Safety Case approval specifically for well intervention and as such has set the benchmark for all other service providers.”

Alasdair Cowie, managing director of TSMarine, said: “The safety of our staff, vessels and equipment are of paramount importance to TSMarine and we dedicated a team of experienced personnel in gaining this Safety Case. The Havila Harmony is the latest vessel to join our rapidly expanding fleet and with it being mobilised on March 28 to carry out work in Australian waters we acted quickly to ensure we had the relevant safety approvals.”

As well as well intervention the NOPSA Safety Case approval covers the Havila Harmony for diving support work.
