Keel laying ceremony for latest Fesco container ship
Jingling expect to deliver FESCO ANADYR a month ahead of schedule
 

The keel laying ceremony of the fifth container vessel, built for FESCO, took place on March, 10th at the Jingling shipyard in China

The vessel is to be named FESCO ANADYR. Its construction is a part of the company's fleet development programme,  including nine ships construction of about 20,000 TEU total capacity by the year 2009. The FESCO fleet was enhanced in 2006  with four new container ships and one ro-ro vessel.

The first steel cutting of the new vessel  was started on November, 30th, 2006.

According to the Jingling shipyard's schedule, the new vessel will be delivered to FESCO Transport Group on November, 30th, 2007 - a month earlier than is stipulated in the contract.

The newbuild vessel of 13760 tons deadweight is designed to carry 1080 TEU's. 220 reefer containers can be loaded in order to carry refrigerated cargo. The ship will have two electro-hydraulic cranes, carrying 40 tons each. Service speed laden is expected to be about 19 knots.

Four vessels of the current type are operated by FESCO - FESCO ASKOLD, FESCO ALEUT, FESCO AYON and FESCO ALTAY. The vessels were delivered in 2006 and 2007.
