IoM registered tanker collides with quayside
BIRTHE THERESA causes damage to Hamburg quay and herself

The Isle of Man registered tanker BIRTHE THERESA collided with a quay wall in Hamburg on Tuesday.

The vessel, said to have a pilot on board, collided with the Arning Quay and with a berthing dolphin.

Six square metres of the quayside were pulled apart and the ship herself suffered damage to her bows with plate and joist damage.

No-one was injured in the incident and it would appear her cargo of paraffin was intact with no pollution reported.

BIRTHE THERESA is owned by Danish shipowners, Theresa Tankers and operated by Herning A/S.

She was built in 1995.
