Vessel runs aground at Perth harbour
BALTIYSKIY-201 suffers grounding on sandbank

A 90 metre cargo vessel was stranded until hight tide on Monday at Perth harbour on the River Tay.

As she entered harbour she hit a sandbank and became fast.

Her crew had to await the arrival of high tide before the vessel floated off again.

Initial inspections have shown no sign of damage and the vessel was able to resume offloading her cargo of timber.

The Baltiyskiy-201 is operated by INOK NV of Belgium and appears to be a west European arm of a Russian firm. The 2264 grt multi-purpose cargo vessel is registered in Malta.
